Miriam Parker was born in the Lower East Side and grew up within a tight-knit community of musicians, dancers, poets, and artists. She has dedicated her adult life to the study of dance, yoga, dharma, wellness, and community engagement. She has been teaching for the past ten years; a life path that plays a major role in her art-making. She specializes in creating highly curated wellness and fitness plans that allow individuals to achieve their personal goals, both physical and mental. She develops custom plans using her expertise in yoga and meditation, complemented by personal training involving free weights, kettlebells, core work, cross-fit, Pilates, and Gyrokinesis.

Unlike other physical training modalities, yoga and meditation emerged from philosophical traditions. Because of this foundation, the skillful use of these practices offers us a physical transformation and a shift of mind. Miriam builds on those traditions to help clients achieve mental and physical pliancy, and thus more effective in accomplishing their goals.
As Miriam says, “When we try to change and do something new, we have a fear of letting go of what we're attached to.” Miriam supports her clients in overcoming resistance, engaging in the disciplined work to achieve change, and finding enjoyment in their new rituals. To that end, she assists clients in developing the personal and social influences that can support change. “I sit and talk about how they could share their practice of movement or meditation with other people,” she says. “Through that, we invite their friends and community to share what they’re experiencing.
